Lamelle Shaw is a writer of Liberian descent based in South Africa. The first poem she wrote at the age of 15, Ashes of My Heart about love during the war was published in "Tears of Fire", an anthology by the U.S. National Library of Poetry. She was a featured poet at Arts Alive International Poetry Festival in Johannesburg in 2001 and has had articles published in the Oprah Magazine, Destiny, Real and Succeed in South Africa and The Service Mag and Accelerator in Rwanda. She continues to perform Spoken Word and works in Communications. This is her maiden book.

Ashes of My Heart takes us on a journey through moods of a woman, motherhood, and memories. She gives her raw sentiments. Lamelle writes from the heart and shares in-depth emotions and draws you into her poetry from the first line to the terminal twists.
